Here at Bluebird Kindergarten Liverpool we are implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The curriculum is divided into 7 areas of development.
Communication & Language, Personal and Social, Physical,
Maths, Literacy, Knowledge of the World and Expressive Art & Design.
Through our active learning programme the children will develop as successful learners, skilful communicators and confident, effective contributors.
All children are encouraged to enjoy crafts, mark-making, singing and story time on a daily basis. Drama, yoga, water-play, music and dance and even French
are all built into the weekly timetable.
French Our French programme involves simple games, songs, counting rhymes and everyday greetings aimed at helping the children to learn a new language in a fun way. |
Outdoor. There are regular weather related topics running throughout the year and children take turns to be the weather reporter. We want children to explore the outdoor environment and investigate nature in order to further their knowledge. |
Community Older children have the opportunity to visit the local post office and greengrocers or take part in number walks and listening walks. We invite our local police and fire service officers in to talk to the children about safety. |
Drama We hold a weekly drama session to introduce children to the different types of performing arts. Activities include mask making, following a script, changing your voice and of course lots of dressing up. |
Music and Movement A pianist joins us on a weekly basis for musical activities and dance. Children learn to recognise and copy different rhythms and to count the beats in their name. |
Multi Cultural Celebrations. Children explore many different cultures and customs throughout their stay with us. We enjoy celebrating lots of different cultural festivals from around the world including Australia Day, Diwali, Bastille Day, Chinese New Year and many more. We very much welcome parent's input at these events. |
